Description

Our client is a leading Oil, Gas and Petroleum group. They are expanding in 2012 and have a very strong reputation across the region. We are looking for an experienced Senior Level professional to join their organisation in Kuwait as the Senior Petroleum Engineer. OVERVIEW OF ROLE Plans, directs and co-ordinates a wide range of engineering studies and related operational activities. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Directs and supervises the activities of assigned personnel. • Plans and co-ordinates studies undertaken by subordinates into a wide range of petroleum engineering activities including well and reservoir performance and development, nature of existing pumping operations and possible improvements and the need for extensive work over programmes. • Undertakes personally detailed projects covering particular aspects of production operations from an engineering view point. Projects include seeking ways to develop and improve secondary recovery procedures and assessing need for dehydration and desalting systems. Prepares suitable reports on findings and submits to supervisor. • Oversees all well testing programmes implemented and supervised by the BHP operator. These programmes include fluid level and flow tests, surface and bottom hole pressure and temperature surveys and measurements taken to asses rod loads and balances. • Ensures that all result are properly recorded and analysed and that findings are duly highlighted. • Reviews various reports compiled and submitted by subordinates covering on-going operational problems and specific studies. Assess value of solutions offered and recommendations made and comments accordingly. Additionally advises on the content of proposed extensive well worker programmes, suggesting amendments as necessary. • Undertakes long term operational planning related to the total production operation. • Presents detailed projections of the nature of operations to be expected in five to ten years’ time. Considers work done in this respect to subordinates. Confers with both State and Company personnel accordingly. • Participates in the preparation of capital and revenue budget. Prepares detailed cost analysis for proposed projects/contracts, raises technical indents as required, and ensures that expenditure falls within the limits. • Participates in the preparation of the annual drilling programmes and AFE’s based upon predicted production and exploration requirements and reservoir evaluations. • Carries out other related duties such as training and developing subordinates, preparing progress reports and vetting statistical data compiled by subordinates and observing Fire
